Sarkodie Backs Ebo Noah: "It Was Just Content"

Award-winning rapper Sarkodie has broken his silence on the arrest of Evans Eshun, popularly known as Ebo Noah. In an Instagram story on January 2, 2026, the rapper questioned

the police’s decision to handcuff the "modern-day Noah."

Sarkodie suggested that the controversial prophet's actions were likely a form of digital entertainment rather than a criminal plot. He noted that from "day one," he viewed the ark project as a content creation exercise.

The rapper’s defense follows Ebo Noah’s high-profile appearance at the Rapperholic 2025 concert on December 25—the very day the "prophet" had predicted a global apocalypse would begin.

The Doomsday Timeline

  • August 2025: Ebo Noah goes viral, claiming a 3-year flood would start on Christmas Day.

  • Dec 25, 2025: No flood occurs. Ebo Noah appears on stage with Sarkodie, telling fans to "party" because God postponed the doom.

  • Dec 31, 2025: The Ghana Police Service arrests him for allegedly inducing "fear and panic."

  • Jan 2, 2026: A court remands him for two weeks and orders a psychiatric evaluation.

The Legal Fallout

Police investigations reveal that Ebo Noah—who works as a security man at a private school—did not actually build the arks he showed online. He allegedly used photos of existing boats and edited them to look like massive vessels.

He is currently facing charges of false communication and publishing false news with intent to cause fear and panic. Some followers reportedly abandoned their homes in neighboring countries to travel to his "site" in Elmina.

Ebo Noah reportedly admitted to police that his prophecy was intended for social media engagement. He was granted bail of GH¢100,000 on January 15, with his next court date set for March 18, 2026.

The Bottom Line

Sarkodie has sparked a national debate by describing Ebo Noah's failed doomsday prophecy as "content creation," even as the state pursues criminal charges for the widespread public anxiety caused.
