The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has officially rolled out an upgraded electronic pay-slip system for all public sector
workers on the National Payroll. In a move to bolster security and data accuracy, the Department has made the National Identification (Ghana Card) number a mandatory requirement for accessing payroll information.
According to Mr. Cephas N. Dosoo, Head of Public Relations at CAGD, the new system is designed to provide a more transparent and secure interface for employees while protecting sensitive personal data from unauthorized access.
How to Register: A Step-by-Step Guide
Public sector workers are required to re-register on the new portal to maintain access to their records. Below is the verified process based on the CAGD’s official instructional video:
-
Initiate Registration: Visit the official portal at gogepayservices.com. On the login page, click on "Forgot Password" to start the registration flow [00:20].
-
Verify Identity: Enter your Employee Number [00:20] followed by your Ghana Card Number to verify your identity [00:31].
-
Contact Information: Review your profile. You must add or edit your Phone Number, as this is now compulsory [00:40]. Providing an email address remains optional.
-
Security OTP: Confirm your phone number to receive a One-Time Password (OTP). Enter the code to proceed [01:04].
-
Secure Your Account: Create a new password and select a Security Question [01:21]. This question will be vital for any future password recoveries.
-
Finalize: Review the summary page, check the confirmation box, and click "Register Account" to complete the process [01:30].
Important Note on Profile Changes
The CAGD has clarified that certain "greyed-out" fields in your profile cannot be edited through the online portal. If your official name or other core data is incorrect, you must contact your HR Department directly, as these changes can only be made through official HR channels [00:48].
Support and Feedback
For employees requiring further assistance, the CAGD has activated the following support lines:
-
0303 987 950 / 0303 987 951
-
0247 360 841 / 0245 289 771 / 0246 968 301
The Bottom Line
By linking the E-Pay-Slip system to the Ghana Card, the CAGD is creating a more resilient and fraud-proof payroll environment. All public sector workers are urged to complete their registration immediately to ensure uninterrupted access to their monthly payment records.
